Back after a short break

I have been traveling to different towns and states in Peninsular Malaysia driving my VW Tiguan around. Catch up with my UPM friends from the 1980s since I last visited in 1993 while I was on my way back to Singapore driving from KL.

All of us have reached the legal retirement age and less pre-occupied with full time work but pursuing our recreational passion.

My passion and interest has always about the financial markets and working towards a improving the systems I am using today in term on accuracy and reliability. Yes, I have sort of put PREDICTION the Future as the bottom of my list. But this does not mean that I have ignored this completely. More important that we need to know and understand the MAJOR trend reversal happens only two times i.e the START and the END of the current follow by the START of a NEW directional trend.

Most of the time is the 'traveling' adventure between the start and  the end. How we manage this 'in-between' journey will decide how well our performance will be.

We all know that any price chart irrespective the present or the past dating back to 1800s, the price chart will move at different tangent/steepness and not in a straight regular angle with different up and down swings.

After establish the basic premise/foundation of a trend, we need to reflect which time frame is suitable for us and which tool(s) is appropriate.

The last question that come to my mind is WHO is in control? Is the market action going to dictate how  I am going to behave in the market? or I am going to decide when to act?

After one has selected the suitable time frame, that will decide if your action is dictated by the market and you are merely a passenger or you are the captain and not the passenger.

The key advantage for being and an old hand in this game and alive is I get  to sit back playback the journey since 1987 October crash until today a good 38 years.

I have paid my fees and learnt my lessons = EXPERIENCE and SKILL.

There is no doubt chart has forecasting benefits but most importantly its ability to show us the seasons (UP - DOWN - SIDEWAY)

If we cannot handle the volatility while waiting for the forecast/prediction to be come reality, it is likely that we will not be able to make a living from the markets
